Structured data

Machine-readable markup that describes what a page is — a product, article, FAQ — unlocking rich results and helping AI understand it.

Structured data describes a page's meaning in a format search and AI engines can trust: this is a recipe, that is a product with a price, this is an FAQ. Google uses it to render rich results — stars, prices, FAQ accordions — and AI engines use it to understand and cite the page. JSON-LD is the usual format; Schema.org is the vocabulary.

Common types

  • Article or BlogPosting for posts.
  • Product with Offer for anything you sell.
  • FAQPage where you answer common questions.
  • BreadcrumbList so the path shows in results.
